Typical Day

When looking after children I don’t think there is ever a typical day!

I work in partnership with my parents to ensure that each individual child is catered for whenever possible. A “normal” day would include attending playgroups and local events, as well as visiting local parks and nature reserves. We also go further afield to farms, soft play and even to the beach. Children are involved in planning our week. For older children we discuss what they would like to do and what they have learnt recently either at school or at another setting and for younger children I use my observations to ensure their development is supported. All activities are adapted to suit each individual child. Every child is welcomed and valued.  Your child will also be involved in creating a yearly memory book to take home, with photos and art work relating to their time here. With your permission we also take photos of our day which we use to create displays and to enhance our leaning experience.

Obviously we do have to be at school and groups at certain times so a day with me is normally as follows

8am – 8.30am – Breakfast and quiet play
9.30am – 12noon – Either visit a local group, the library or stay at home to play and do an activity. Snack is offered around 10.30am depending on what we are doing.
12noon – 1pm – Lunch
1pm – 2.30pm – Nap/rest time for younger children. Activity and free play for older children
3.30pm – Home for snack, free play or visit to the park
5.15pm – Dinner
6pm – Close
